Kristen Levstek is the owner and founder of Blockheads & Bows Pet Services LLC, established in November 2021 to provide structured, reliable, and high-quality pet care for clients who expect more than the basics. Together, Kristen and her husband Dean Levstek operate the business, bringing a shared commitment to consistency, trust, and individualized care.

What began as a small, passion-driven service “love letter” to her own dogs Enzo Marley + Royal Beth, quickly evolved into a full service, high-demand business built on attention to detail and a reputation for doing things in an individualized, client focused way. Kristen has extensive hands-on experience with dogs of all breeds, temperaments, including high-energy, behavioral, and special needs cases.

Kristen personally performs the majority of all client visits, ensuring a high level of consistency and care across services. She also oversees scheduling, operations, and client relationships, maintaining the standard Blockheads & Bows is known for. Due to the hands-on nature of her work and a consistently full calendar, overnight availability is limited and services are encouraged to be booked in advance.

In addition to her work in pet care, Kristen is actively involved in animal welfare advocacy. She serves in a leadership role within the Montgomery County Animal Welfare Task Force and is the founder of People Assisting Animal Welfare (PAAW), where she works to promote accountability, improve standards of care, and support better outcomes for animals within the community. This work directly influences her approach to pet care, reinforcing her commitment to structure, safety, and a higher standard of responsibility for every animal in her company’s care.

Dean supports the business as co-owner of Blockheads & Bows, assisting primarily with administrative, daycare services and additional visit coverage when needed. His calm demeanor and natural patience make him a great fit for dogs who thrive on structure and routine. Outside of Blockheads & Bows, Dean is a full-time English teacher for 9th and 10th grade students.

Kristen is also the founder of The Doghouse Collective, expanding her approach to thoughtful, structured care into a daycare setting. This partnership with Folded Ear LLC was formed in April 2026.

Outside of their work, Kristen and Dean enjoy spending time together at home with their 6 dogs, cooking, and unwinding with their favorite shows and games. Their shared love for animals and commitment to creating a stable, caring environment carries through into every service they provide.

Their approach is straightforward: show up, follow through, and deliver exceptional care every time.

Suzie is a trusted member of the Blockheads & Bows team since 2023, providing dependable support across a variety of services while maintaining the structure and consistency clients expect. She works within the established B & B standard to ensure each pet receives attentive, individualized care.

She assists with walks, play dates, and additional coverage during high-demand times, helping ensure services run smoothly without compromising quality.

Suzie is known for her calm, steady presence and her ability to follow routines closely, making her a great fit for dogs who benefit from consistency and a familiar approach. Her attention to detail and reliability make her an important part of the team. She enjoys spending time with her dog Peach when she isn’t working.

Pam and Dennis have been part of Blockheads & Bows long before it officially began. As Kristen’s parents, they’ve witnessed the growth of the business from day one and have become trusted extensions of the care we provide.

Over the years, what started as “Kristen bringing home just one more dog” turned into a genuine love for animals of all kinds. Today, they share their home with Sophie, their American Bully, and Jackson, a special needs boxer who requires dedicated, attentive care. Both dogs that Kristen “encouraged” them to adopt.

Pam and Dennis assist with select services including potty breaks, pop-in visits, and Nana Pam does occasional overnights for established clients. Their calm presence, reliability, and familiarity with the B & B standard make them a trusted part of the team when additional support is needed.

Sunshine is a valued member of the Blockheads & Bows Pet Services team, bringing genuine compassion, reliability, and a deep love for animals into every visit.

As a proud pet parent to two boxers, Bella and Chunk, and two cats, Olliver and Twix, Sunshine understands firsthand that every animal has their own unique personality, needs, and quirks. Known within the team as a bit of a cat expert, she has a special ability to read feline behavior and build trust with even the most particular or independent cats.

This perspective shapes her approach to care—treating each pet as an individual and ensuring they feel safe, comfortable, and truly understood.

She is especially passionate about creating positive, enriching experiences for every pet in her care, whether that means supporting special needs animals, advocating for misunderstood breeds, or simply making sure each visit is filled with attention, patience, and joy.

Outside of pet care, Sunshine enjoys spending time outdoors, working on home projects, and being with the people and animals she loves most.
